The 65th anniversary of the Invasion of Normandy passed just a few days ago. Back in 2006, I had the opportunity to travel to the north of France and finally see the beaches that the allied forces had stormed on the morning of June 6, 1944. It felt surreal walking along that coastline. My trip to the American cemetery was not to be as it was closed for the day. Nevertheless, here are some pictures I shot at the Omaha and Sword beaches, where the American and British soldiers invaded, respectively.
